9th New York Heavy Artillery @ 161st Cedar Creek

The purpose of this webpage is to provide information for members of the recreated 9th New York Heavy Artillery for the 161st Anniversary reenactment of the Battle of Cedar Creek (17-9 October 2025.)

Report Time: Recommended: Friday 17 October But NLT 8AM, Saturday 18 October.

Registration Link. Note: When registering, under “USA Affiliation” select “N/A” as the Third Regiment is not (yet) an offered choice. Under “Regiment or Battery” enter your Home Unit. (Fee is $35 through 31 August, and then increases.)

VI Corps, 3rd Division

At the Battle of Cedar Creek, the 9th NY HA was assigned to the Army of the Shenandoah (MG Phillip Sheridan); to the VI Corps (BG James Ricketts); Third Division (COL J. Warren Kiefer), Second Brigade (COL William Ball.) The 9th NY HA was under the command of MAJ James Snyder.
